Mozilla, the makers of the popular Firefox Internet browser, is preparing to challenge Google and Apple's grip on smartphone software.
It showed off the first commercial version of the Firefox operating system, which is set for a July release
Smartphones equipped with the Firefox operating system look familiar to those on other systems, with an array of apps.
The new software is based on open Web standards.
As it is open-source and Web-based, third-party developers will be free to sell mobile applications without needing to share their revenue.
