Red Devils are 7 pts clear of the Citizens

In English football action, 

Manchester United are now 7 points ahead of nearest rivals, Manchester City. 

And that's after last night's 4-3 win by United over Newcastle. 

At home, the Red Devils trailed 3 times before a last-gasp goal from Javier Hernandez sealed the victory over the Magpies. 

As for Manchester City, they lost 1-0 to Sunderland. 

And Chelsea with a game in hand are in 3rd place and 4 points behind the champions, after Juan Mata's 20-metre strike gave the Blues a 1-0 win over Norwich 
City. 

Meanwhile, 

Tottenham Hotspur moved up to 4th spot after Gareth Bale grabbed his first Premier League hat-trick in a 4-0 rout at Aston Villa. 

5th-ranked Everton beat Wigan 2-1 while West Bromwich Albion were also 2-1 winners at Queens Park Rangers. 

It was 1-1 between Fulham and Southampton, 

There were no goals between Reading and Swansea City, 

And the match between Arsenal and West Ham was postponed while Liverpool returned to its old ways, after losing 3-1 at Stoke City. 


Onto Division 2 football, 

And Cardiff City went 5 points clear at the top after coming from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1. 

The Welsh club's victory proved even sweeter with news that 2nd-placed Hull City, drew goalless at home with Leicester. 

In other selected results, 

Blackburn Rovers remain in 17th place after losing 1-0 at 3rd-ranked Middlesborough, 

Bolton also lost 1-0 to Sheffield Wednesday and Wolves were hammered 3-0 at home by Peterborough.
