Singapore hammer Malaysia 3-nil in their opening group match in the AFF Suzuki Cup

Singapore made a winning start in their AFF Suzuki Cup campaign, after they thrashed Malaysia 3-nil in Group B.

At the Bukit Jalil Stadium, captain Shahril Ishak stunned the defending champions with his opener in the 32nd minute.

The Lions 12 midfielder took advantage of poor goalkeeping by Malaysia's Khairul Fahmi , as he headed home the 2nd goal just 5 minutes later.

Substitute Aleksander Duric scored the 3rd goal for the Republic in the 2nd half to seal the win.

Switching gears to Motorsport and in Formula 1,

Sebastian Vettel became the youngest ever 3-time World Champion, after he defended his crown at the season-ending Brazillian Grand Prix.

At the Interlagos Circuit, the 25 year old almost lost the Driver's Championship to Fernando Alonso midway through.

Vettel spun out in the early stages, only to rejoin the pack in last place.

But the German fought his way back in the wet conditions, to finish in 6th position and retain his World title.

McLaren's Jenson Button finished in 1st place in front of Fernando Alonso, as Felipe Massa grabbed 3rd.

Wrapping up with Tennis,

World Number 9 Janko Tipsarevic won the inaugural Clash of Continents tournament for Europe at the Singapore Indoor Stadium yesterday.

But the Serb didn't have to play a single game in the final day of the exhibition event, after Japan's Kei Nishikori pulled out with a wrist problem.

The World Number 19 sustained the injury in his previous game against America's Sam Querrey.
