SMRT bus drivers who refused to go to work in talks with management
Public transport provider SMRT says it is in talks with its bus drivers who refused to go to work today.
A spokesman for SMRT says 102 of them from China are involved and as at 4pm today the service leaders are in talks with the management.
SMRT says earlier reports that nearly 200 bus drivers were involved was incorrect.
It is believed that the bus drivers had stayed away from work as a result of unhappiness over their pay.
SMRT adds that the relevant authorities have already been informed about the situation today.
