Singh Withdraws After Spray Saga

In golf,

Vijay Singh has withdrawn from the Phoenix Open a day after he admitted using a deer antler spray that contains a substance banned by the PGA Tour.

The 3-time major winner cited a back injury as the reason for this withdrawal.

Singh's departure means the 49-year-old from Fiji has yet to face the media since he confirmed that he used the spray, but insisted he didn't know it contained any banned substance.

He's next scheduled to play at Pebble Beach next week.
