South Korea Dec manufacturing outlook dives to 3-year low

A key measure of how South Korean manufacturing companies assess business conditions for the coming month fell to a 3-year low.

The Bank of Korea said the manufacturing business survey index for December fell to 69 from November.

A reading below 100 means more companies expect business conditions to deteriorate in the following month.

Companies cited economic uncertainties and sluggish domestic demand as the most likely factors to dampen their business.

This, indicating that the slow recovery in demand from abroad would fail to lift Asia's fourth-largest economy sharply.
