South Korea's jobless rate remained steady at 3 percent for a third consecutive month in December amid slower growth in the number of people employed.
Statistics Korea said the reading has been unchanged since it fell to a 56-month low in October.
The number of people employed rose over 1 percent to about 24.4 million last month.
The job data came two days before the Bank of Korea's monthly monetary policy meeting over its benchmark interest rate.
