Thailand ready to hold peace talks with insurgents
Thailand wants to hold peace talks with militant groups behind an insurgency in the south "soon"
Security officials said they are still establishing which militant leaders have authority to negotiate any peace deal.
The comments come ahead of tomorrow's meeting between Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak.
The pair will discuss the nine-year insurgency, which has claimed more than 5,500 lives
They will also talk about the possibility of Malaysia hosting the talks with the militants.
