Up to 19 dead in Egypt hot-air balloon accident
Authorities in Egypt's southern province of Luxor have ordered a ban of all hot air balloon flights in the city following a deadly crash that killed up to 19 tourists.
The hot air balloon exploded and plunged to earth during a sunrise flight earlier today
It was carrying 21 people and flying at 300 metres when it caught fire.
An Egyptian security official said 19 tourists from Hong Kong, Japan, Britain, France and Hungary had died in the crash.
Two French tourists were confirmed dead by the French foreign ministry
The general manager of a Hong Kong tour operator, Raymond Ng, also said nine of its customers were on that hot air balloon
An employee at the company operating the balloon ride said the pilot and one tourist survived by jumping out of the basket before it hit the ground.
