Action for AIDS, Singapore (AFA) was formed in 1988 to promote AIDS prevention, advocacy and support. AFA is a registered charity whose various support, welfare and educational programmes are managed largely by volunteers. AfA operates an Anonymous HIV-testing facility in the Singapore. They also manage welfare funds disbursing financial assistance to patients and their families, and co-ordinate several support groups to assist infected persons who are hospitalised or at home. Their educational activities include public talks and exhibitions, outreach programmes, the development of educational materials, behavioural research and intervention programmes.
Action for AIDS (AfA) is a caring NGO committed to AIDS prevention, advocacy and support. Their mission is to prevent transmission of HIV/AIDS through continuous education targeted at vulnerable groups; to advocate for access to affordable care and against HIV/AIDS discrimination; and to provide support for PWAs (persons living with HIV/AIDS), caregivers and volunteers.
