Premieres 9 August 2013 (Right after NDP)

    Ep2 – Ep18:
    12 Aug to 2 Dec 2013
    Mondays, 8pm - 9pm

As part of MediaCorp’s TV 50 Celebration, Mata Mata is one of the key programmes rolled out and will be spreading across a period of 3 years. MediaCorp will be producing a total of 3 series (1 each year) that will be featuring different periods of Singapore.

    1st Series

Post war Singapore was a time of uncertainty and change – food shortages were common, crime was rife, and society was riddled with fear and distrust. Secret society gang activity was commonplace, and the Police Force was powerless to stop them. Until now.

Set in post-war, 1950s-60s Singapore, Mata Mata is inspired by real life events, as seen through the eyes of three fictitious women police officers from the first Women Constabulary in Singapore. (Loosely-based on the life of Mary Quintal nee Voon, who became the first female Assistant Superintendent in 1961).
