About Alzheimer's Disease Association
The Association was formed in 1990 as a result of growing concern for the needs of people with dementia and their families. ADA is a voluntary welfare organization and is made up of caregivers, professionals and all who are interested in dementia.
The ADA provides the following services:
- Day care for the people with dementia at our New Horizon Centres: Bukit Batok, Jurong Point, Tampines and Toa Payoh
- Transportation service to attend the New Horizon Centres
- Physiotherapy and occupational therapy
- Caregiver Support Services through the Caregiver Support Centres
- Information and referral
- Caregiver Support Groups conducted in English, Mandarin and Malay for caregivers of person with dementia
- Counselling for caregivers
- Training programmes on dementia care
- Consultancy service in Person Centered Care
- Public education
- Resource library
- Volunteer programme
- Attachment for nursing, medical and social work students at New Horizon Centres for practical training
